Hunting has the technology, resources, established mill relationships and experience to supply all tubular needs on time, anywhere in the world. Through standardization of products and services, Hunting can provide cost effective solutions for any OCTG requirement or program.
Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) - are pipe used in wells in oil and gas industries consisting of casing, tubing and drill pipe.
Casing - is the structural retainer for the walls of oil and gas wells and covers sizes 4.5 to 20 inches O.D. inclusive.
Tubing - is used within the casing to convey the oil or gas to the surface (ground level) and ordinarily includes sizes 1.050 to 4.5 inches O.D. inclusive.
Drill Pipe - is the pipe used to drill the well by transmitting power to a rotary drilling tool from the surface to below ground level. Normally covers sizes 2 3/8 to 6 5/8 inches O.D. inclusive.
Oil Country Tubular Goods are produced to API (American Petroleum Institute) Specifications. There are also OCTG Specifications in ISO 9000.
Tubular Sales
Hunting has taken the strategic decision to invest heavily to create an OCTG inventory. Including both carbon and chrome materials in plain end and threaded condition, this inventory allows customers to draw down standard stock items for immediate dispatch.
Standard mill lead times allows Hunting to respond quickly to changes in well design without cost penalties to the customer.
Managed Supply Solutions (Europe)
As part of the world's leading suppliers of well construction and well completion equipment, Hunting provides a global service throughout the tubular cycle, combing the provision of tubular, threaded accessories and connection threading. these items are critical to every stage of the exploration and production process.
Large OD threaded solutions
As one of the world's leading suppliers of Well Construction and
Well Completion equipment, Hunting provides a global service
throughout the tubular cycle, combining the provision of tubulars,
threaded accessories and connection threading, supported by world
leading service capability.
Driven by increasing cost and leadtime for forgings for standard weld-on connectors, Hunting has now developed a cost effective threaded supply solution for sizes of 16" through to 20" OD. Historically, machining close-tolerance threadforms on ERW material could not be reliably achieved due to wide pipe rolling tolerances.
However, with the development of High Frequency Induction (HFI), Hunting is now able to source and thread connections on pipe sizes normally supported by weld-on connectors.
