PRESERV-A-THREAD™ is an environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitor for threads and seals. Protection is effective for up to three months with closed-end protectors, and up to one year with Interlock O-Ring Protectors. Corrosion protection can be extended with re-application.

The compound is sprayed or brushed on threads and seals. Because PRESERV-A-THREAD™ is compatible with SealLube™ and API make-up compounds, re-cleaning prior to running is not necessary. The formulation contains no phosphates and is non-toxic, anti-microbial and biodegradable.

Simply clean threads and protectors, and spray or brush on PRESERVE-A-THREAD. Its protective monomolecular film bonds to the metal, providing a long-lasting corrosion barrier you can count on.

Because PRESERV-A-THREAD is water soluble, cleanup is effortless. However, PRESERVE-A-TREAD should be used with high quality Hunting Composite-type thread protectors since prolonged exposure to wet conditions could diminish corrosion protection.

Thread Protectors

Hunting Thread Protectors meet or exceed all requirements for corrosion resistance, solvent resistance, vibration resistance, thread stripping and angular or axial impacts established by major manufacturers and users of oil country tubing and casing. Hunting Thread Protectors are available for API and premium thread forms.

Hunting Thread Protectors are manufactured under strict quality control standards of high density polyethylene with threads that extend from the pipe face to the thread run-out.
The polyethylene material used in Hunting Thread Protectors is chemically inert and cannot cause corrosion, will not cause galling and cannot damage the thread coating.

Hunting Thread Protectors are also available in a Closed End Arctic design with fully sealed ends for arctic and offshore applications.

Hunting thread protectors can be supplied in either a composite design or a non composite polyethylene design.

Thread Sealant - SealLube™

SealLube™ thread sealant is an anaerobic compound that in the absence of air converts from a viscous resin into a solid polymer.

When applied sparingly on threads, it cures between the made-up surface to form an infusible and insoluble rubbery film that blocks the entire length of the helical leak path. The pressure integrity is remarkable.

SealLube™ makes up easily, has excellent lubricity, requires no change in torque of API procedures and breaks out with predictable torque. The compound is environmentally safe and meets or exceed all criteria of API Bulletin 5A2.
